Tenormin looks like tablets and may have a different dosage of the active component of atenolol: 25, 50 and 100 mg. There is also a liquid form for injection - 5 mg of atenolol. The preparation contains inactive components, such as povidone, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate, and microcrystalline cellulose.
Tenormin can be used as an independent medicine or used with other medicaments. Your doctor may prescribe these pills for hypertension to treat high blood pressure. Reducing hypertension helps to prevent the risk of stroke, kidney problems, and even heart attacks. Tenormin is also used to treat angina (chest pain), for the complex treatment of cardiovascular diseases (in combination with other medicines).
