Catapres (Clonidine) is an efficacious antihypertensive medication. The mechanism of action of the drug is to reduce central sympathetic tone and inhibit transmission in postganglionic sympathetic neurons. Catapres (Clonidine) causes a decrease in blood pressure even in small doses.
