Anacin (aspirin and caffeine) is a combination of salicylate and stimulant. It works by reducing the substances in the body that cause pain, fever and inflammation. Caffeine is used in this medication to increase the analgesic effects of aspirin. Anacin is used to treat headaches, muscle pain, menstrual cramps, minor arthritis pain, and fever or body aches caused by the common cold. Anacin is sometimes used to treat or prevent heart attacks, strokes, and chest pain (angina pectoris).
Indication for use
Anacin can be taken by almost all adults and teenagers over 18 who have mild or moderate pain from headaches, muscle pains, menstrual periods, colds and sore throats, toothaches, back pain, and the reaction to vaccinations (shots), and to lower the temperature. Paracetamol can also be used to ease the pain of osteoarthritis (arthritis caused by decay of the lining of the joints).
Anacin is not recommended to use if you have:
· a recent history of stomach or intestinal bleeding;
· active bleeding caused by hemophilia or other bleeding disorders; or
· allergies to NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).
You have to consult your doctor in case of pregnancy and in period of lactation.
Dose and usage
Anacin looks like white, round, flat tablet divided by line in the middle.
You should take this medication orally every 6 hours. In case of stomach upset caused by the influence of Anacin, take it with meal. Try not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking this medication.
