Description
These tablets can be of 3 forms: 25 mg has round shape and light yellow color, 50 mg has an oval shape and light orange color, 100 mg has a round shape and peach color. Each pill is covered with a membrane and has a small incision marked with the drug. The most active component is spironolactone.

Aldactone is widely used as a treatment:

To lower blood pressure.
Control of high blood pressure.
Bilateral micro- or macronodular adrenal hyperplasia.
Chronic heart failure.
Congestive heart failure.
Cirrhosis of the liver (with ascites/edema).
For maintenance therapy along with bed rest and limitation of fluid and sodium.
Nephrotic syndrome (if other diuretics fail).

This pill may be compatible with some other drugs that can be used as an additional medication for treatment. There are some medicaments that should not be taken with Aldactone. Consult your doctor to avoid harm to your body.

Many women believe that they can take Aldactone during pregnancy to reduce swelling of the limbs, but in some cases, it is not right. Swelling of the extremities is a normal reaction of the body to a change in hormonal levels and an increase in the size of the uterus during gestation. This medicament can sometimes harm the normal development of the fetus and the health of the mother. But in some cases, pregnant women can take this drug but only under the close supervision of the attending physician.

This pill has several contraindications and this means that the patient cannot take Aldactone if he has:

Liver failure.
Menstrual irregularities.
Hyperkalemia.
Anuria.
Addison's disease.
Breast enlargement.
Metabolic acidosis.
Hyponatremia and others.

Aldactone is absorbed into the gastrointestinal tract and by almost 90%. The pill is excreted by the kidneys, but a small part of it comes out with bile. The effect of using this medication will be visible after 3-4 days of treatment. The regimen and dosage should be set by your doctor, but according to the instructions, this drug should be taken 100-200 mg per day, sometimes 2-3 tablets.
